Maybe You'Ve Forgotten Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Maybe You'Ve Forgotten

Maybe you’ve forgotten
The way it use to be
How we use to hold hands
As you drifted off to sleep
Knowing I would always be there for you
Knowing I would always be by your side
Maybe you’ve forgotten
The way it use to be
How we use to race each other
Down the street
And somehow you would always win
Cause you were always first in my heart
The number one person in my life
Maybe you’ve forgotten
How you use to constantly
Call me, “daddy, daddy”
How you use to ask me
To do all kinds of little things for you
Knowing I could never say no
That I would be more then happy to please you
Maybe you’ve forgotten
How you use to wake me up
To get you something to drink
And how you would ask me
To stay up with you
To watch the early morning cartoons
And I would sit there with you, half asleep
Waiting to see your eyes sparkle and light up
Every time you began to smile
Maybe you’ve forgotten
How much I love you
And how much I will always love you
Cause you will always be first in my heart
The number one person in my life
Maybe you’ve forgotten
God knows, I never will
