Me Poem by Ahmer Bashir

Me

Me is born,
Lonely as the moon,
Shining like a star.
Forever locked in orbit?

Hop diddly squat.
Hop diddly-no!
Listen Son,
The trick is not to let Me know.
We live in a great big pond.
Some might even bite.

Me looks at me,
Other Me looks at me.
Me makes me better.
Me makes me sad.
Me makes me grow.

Me just me?
Why is Me?
What is Me?
Is Me in We?
Is We in me?
Is We in We?
Poor We scattered to many me.
Can We just be?
Or is We not We, but We and We?

Where is me?
Pretty Little Me staring at me.
Me is me?
Can Me be We?
Questions to ponder in life.

Wisen Me!
Sometimes, life is not what we seek
So ponder for longer but not a little longer.
Me grow stronger.

One thing, be certain.
Me cannot just be we.
We cannot deny me.
Or me will abandon we.
And We will cease to be We.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The poem is about a guy reflecting internally about finding a life partner. This might also be a guy with gender complexities. Or not. Depends on the reader. Is it about our place in society? What do you see in this poem? Feel free to comment. This is my first poem on Poem Hunter.
