Me Poem by chris schwartz

Me

I live my life blind
But you like it that way.
Keep me in the Dark
And I won't go astray.
The dreams that I follow
Are yours and not ours
Keep looking for rainbows
Beneath lonely stars.

Maybe I belong up there
Among those who we wonder
About
Maybe My dreams are just
A little too big
For the small sky
That you still dream about.
Perhaps in this moment
You want me next to you
But I'm further
Without.

Can't erase all the blows
Or the bruises
From innocence.
And there hasn't been
A soldier strong enough
To make it go away.
But you, you came close
To perfect,
Then love for money
Made it all go away.
Your silver dollar
Isn't what I live life for.
But I get that
From where you now are.
I love you
I love you.
Let the Heavens take
Control now.

Looking towards three days
Without you
I am about to lose my mind
But I will give in to this
I know
Because you need your time.
I live, I exist,
In the life that
Carries me Blind.
