Me And My Shadow! Poem by Vinod Varma

Day was young!
As I walked, my shadow walked along
Flat, cool, and dark, much larger than myself

I was proud!
As I moved, my shadow mimicked my actions
I loved my shadow, I was my shadow

Time moved on!
As I burned, in scorching heat of my destiny,
My shadow grew smaller and smaller

I lost my shadow!
I lost my shadow into myself, in my solitude
I realized that I am all alone

From within myself,
I saw my shadow grow again slowly
Growing slowly, much larger than myself
