in my dreams you appear
all the time you are there
you are the one constant
whether night terror or no

you always are there
you always are there
you comfort me in either choice
you are the light i am the dark

so scared to go into the light
so scared to feel the sun on my face
so scared to feel it caress my cheek
like water gently dripping from my body

in a long corridor i stand
half its length covered in darkness
half its length covered in light
caught in eternal battle these two forces engage

i see you standing the light emanating from you
the darkness from me,
i walk to you
i reach to you as you do to me

tentacles from the dark wrap
around my arms tearing and pulling
i feel the skin tear and blood flow
i don't care all i need is to be with you

i reach again this time i feel stronger
i pull and pull yet again getting closer
my clothes in tatters blood streaming down me
but yet that matters for naught

i am now in your arms
i can sleep now
slowly closing my eyes
i hear your whisper into my ear

'i love you'
i smile and pass out of the realm of pretense
and wake for real in your arms
tears flood to my eyes and down my face

'i love you too'
i shout into the air
i found you
and you have found me
