Me Too, She Did Me Wrong Too. - Poem by Vuyani Brown Mnisi

Turbulent times
In the depths of my heart
Deep at a place unknown to all who claim to be close to it
Is a deep, dark and addictive substance
You can never have enough of her
My predecessor knows this
I am beginning to know it
and oh what a cruel surprise awaits my successor
she is a deep dark cheat
and there are no two ways about it
she's merciless
and she has got no feelings except for love itself
it would seem none of us gave it adequately
or she would be here, still
and never gotten that far

she should be loving me
she should be staying with me
she should be the water that nurtures my dying heart
but she promised, why is she reneging?
I was taken by her words
Her charm and smile
Had me searching for no more brighter days
And now she's gone
So suddenly
Jealousy has me in stitches
I am thinking who's she with
Am I still in her mind at all?
Let alone her heart
Oh but she's in mine

I must have been such a fool
Filled my heart with falsehood
I must have blessed myself
With somebody else's felony
