Look to the sky
When you become half what you used to be
When the pride that fuelled your strut
Becomes the meekness that turns your gold to rust
When the zest you felt for life turns into the best you have ever been to time
And your blue skies turn grey because of your pride
You look to the sky
And you will survive
Look to the sky
Where the birds worry about no traffic
Where the bravest jump out to fall without boundaries
Where all Slain kings and queens once were
You look there
Then maybe you will cease your fears
Look to the sky
Where the brightness of the earth’s days cometh from
Where the sun’s provision is called warmth
And not heat as here on earth
And there even the nights are bright
With the endlessly glowing stars and the moon
When all men on earth have is their lousy Noon
Why then live?
Look to the sky
It belongs to no one and can never be bought
Yet its beauty is of endless supply and forever sought
Even its heavy tears cause for crop and food to grow on earth
How beautiful is this sky then
Whose Days never end?
Whose preciousness never fades?
Who was before earth was
Why then worship the mortal things of the earth?
When you can look at the sky eternally?
