Meaningful - Poem by Kovan White

It seemed like yesterday when you first called me on the phone
After that moment, I thought about it all night long

You could tell by my response when I came back with the bottle
Huffing and puffin as if I’d just won the lotto

After all our arguments, I felt that I’d won
For months we wouldn’t speck
You never know what you have until it’s done

Remember all our late night games
Nothing else compares I felt I had fame

Sometimes I ponder what might have been
But the only thing in my mind invalid sin

I know there’s a lot of substance our relationship lacked
But through it all, you away had my back

There’s a few times I told you what you’ve mint to me
You still and always will be
The most important person to thee

Having special friends like you is very underrated
What a beautiful friend you are
Man, I just feel so elated

Patrice, you sure are one of a kind
In my heart, you’ll always be mine
