I heard her screams.
I heard her wails.
I hoped it was a dream
As I watched her as she fell.
I heard her cry out.
I watched him hit her
And I wondered what it was about
And how long before she would say 'No more'.
I saw the pain.
I saw the hurt.
I saw the bruises on her.
I saw him hit her again and again,
But she felt not blow.
No, not a thing
As her soul was let go.
I watched her fly away.
I watched her go home.
She smiled the whole way
And I saw her be welcomed.
I watched her be set free.
I saw all these things
Because it was meant to be.
