Meditation 1 Poem by Benjamin Lee Hopper

Meditation 1

Every step's led by a choice,
the remedy for indecision,
guided by our silent musing,
like solid ice from depths arising;

It's here within the quiet mind
where you'll find the animated
sight framed static by third eye,
cast sheer white washed
in phrenic vision;

Touch the opaque stitched
tight canvas then paint
in full a crowded jungle,
each species a rude beckoning,
influence-coated bark and leaf;

With all fortuity at present rest
pleading to your mercy's quill,
cut the base which your pressed,
then instill with sight a clearing
through the mess of trees,

Listen to the noise resound,
a forest filled with foliaged screams,
excited by your will to change
the vacillated landscape cluttering;

Here a path now lays in the clearing,
a bridge built by mental forestry,
ready for you to follow its lead,
now step across the fallen tree.
