Melancholy Eyes Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Melancholy Eyes

Melancholy eyes
Deep blue river streams
Flooding over the horizon
Drowning every last dream
Throwing everything away
As all hope ends up defeated
Coerced into only believing
In pure negativity

So beautiful
Even in sorrow
Yet, so tragic
As everything seems worst
Stuck upon the sullen wrath
Of a very tedious nightmare
Stuck inebriated
Upon a very torturous fictitious scene

Former peeks of wonder
Somehow shining light
Upon a calm clear blue eyed serene
Wishing things could be better
Wishing I could exist
Dreaming within those dreams

Melancholy eyes
Even more emotional
Than they could of ever seemed
Can feel everything descending
Downward into waterfalls of tragedy
Obliviously imprisoned
In a barren uncertainty
Submerged in a drowning self-siege

I am here
Was always around
Trying to catch
Every last tear
Putting them all
Within me

Melancholy eyes
Let me drown into your visions
So I can save you
Let me save you please?

Believe in more than what you see
Look within and believe

Melancholy eyes
No matter what
You are still beautiful
To me

Melancholy eyes
Would you let me save you, please?

Am I something to you?
As you are more to me?

Answer me, Answer me

Please

Melancholy eyes
Deep blue river streams
