Mellow Heart Welcomes Dawn... Poem by iqra hassan

Mellow Heart Welcomes Dawn...

Rating: 5.0

Habitat of clouds was cheeringdilly,
Rain joined in the pandemonium,
To hail the coronation of the first ray of light,
That entered the mellow heart of a young lily,

Emerald-stoned was the jewel of the earth,
The fields were shining like a crown on a head,
Sun was draped in silks of orange,
Celebrations everywhere, from Egypt to Perth,

The twin dew drops smiled on the leaves,
Their last smile, the prettiest one,
Newborn buds were jovially welcomed too,
Forgotten was the anyone, who bereaves,

The nightingale was the next to join,
To add the celestial music to this fallout,
Against the background chirping of all the her fellows,
She had every day, a new melody to coin,

The breeze was adding the mischievous element,
Teasing every petal, each flower and leaf,
Daily at dawn, this ceremony took place,
daily they had an event to be delighted, with factors all elegant..
