Let Me Love You Enough... Poem by iqra hassan

Let Me Love You Enough...

Let me love you enough…

I haven't loved you enough yet…
My blood still doesn't smell of your sweat,
My veins yet don't carry the tepidity your of breath,
My eyes still behold chimera other than you,
My heart beats at quotidian rhythm like others,
I haven't loved you perfectly yet…
I still laugh at the things which fail to amuse you,
I ache at the thoughts which you don't find poignant,
I still manage to smile while you aren't around,
I still worship the God who gave you anguish,
Oh I still haven't loved you enough…
The air I breathe isn't washed in your essence,
The water I drink doesn't contain your colors,
My earth isn't complete yet, craving your vibes,
The fire in my cells is yet to reach your lips,
I still haven't loved you enough…
I haven't killed the people yet who earned your scorn,
Those things aren't broken which perturb you,
Mirror still shares my reflection with you,
My diary yet knows more of my secrets
I haven't loved you enough yet…
I still tread the roads that don't lead to you,
My fingers still rest on abode other than your skin,
My lips utter the words other than your name,
I still rest my vision on faces other than yours,
I think I still haven't loved you enough,
I still roam sane after listening to your voice,
I haven't burned my poems which weren't written for you,
Wind still touches you more than I do,
I didn't end my life the day I made you sad,
I still haven't loved you enough
