Melodia Is Gone Poem by Joanna Gonzalez

Melodia Is Gone

The delicacy of her songs
lures us in a state of ecstasy;
Her promising lyrics
penetrate our existence into something greater.
She abides in her ornamented world
of the things we are meant to hear.
She is the purest and most desirable;
There she awaits for our time to come,
For our ghastly figures to reach perfection.
But the time has come,
Not our time but hers.
The shadow descends to devour her last breath.
She is no more;
The soundless winds have nothing to say,
The roaring waves have nothing to declare.
Today Melodia was taken from us
And in return we received ruins of desolation.
