Memorial Day- M M X V I { In Memory Of Those Who Gave Of Themselves For Us } - Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

Memorial Day- M M X V I { In Memory Of Those Who Gave Of Themselves For Us } -

Lost in the fear of our own fears
are events that trump most fears
in spades, especially on this day
Memorial Day, and for a moment, I
am thinking how it must have been
for so many soldiers in every war,
seconds before their lives were
either changed forever or ended.

Those who never saw it happening
to them or someone next to them
Those who knew they'd entered in
to a place they'd not return from.
Those who came home missing limbs.
Those no longer as they were before
they left to fight for you and me.

These are our Heroes, and this is
their Day. Say a prayer for them,
light a candle for them, or just
take a moment, to reflect on all
what these Heroes did to keep us
Free, retain our Liberty, for us
for them, and our entire Country,
as well as coming to the aid of
many other countries so denied of
those very same rights and Life.

Today's Memorial Day in the U.S.A.
So, take a moment America and also
those from our allied countries who
may have received some goodness
from the United States of America
at one time, perhaps many times,
and in recalling those times, say
'Thanks', in your own personal way.
For, what it's worth, it is my
belief that all those who paid the
the ultimate sacrifice of Life, will
hear you and be grateful for your
thoughtful gesture of appreciation.

AUTHORS NOTE:

It should be clearly understood
that this Author did not mention
the names of any of our many
respected & helpful allies as
most countries pay respect and
tribute to their fallen comrades
in arms on their own designated
day of commemoration / memoriam.
However, that said, it should be
also understood that the United
States has had considerable help
from many countries that share
our values, or a specific common
cause at the time, in helping us
carry out our intentions, achieve
our goals, together, as one Team.
We won our freedom on our own,
however, over the past 100 years
we have worked together with our
allies to help us fuel our Freedom,
and at the same time, we in re-
turn the USA has helped establish
Independence via democratic system
of governing, including elections
free of criminal intimidation for
other nations and regions on this
planet we call Earth, and a World
that is owned by and should be
respected by every Nation on Earth.
