Memorial Days Poem by Alex McCullough

Memorial Days

Moving back down memory lane,
Hearing those voices from so long ago,
That everytime when I think of those moments,
The dried up tears reawaken in my soul.
If I could count,
All the ones I held dear to me,
There'd probably be enough,
For us to say goodbye to this illusion.
But this is how it must go,
Missing each day till there's no more.
You may never know how much you miss them,
The tomorrows which brought your new day into light,
It can be a hard thing to let go of,
But if the time ever comes when that leash is broken,
Just say so long till you see it another day.
