Memories Poem by Santhi Krishnan

Memories

Rating: 5.0

After the day’s routine hubbub

I squeezed some time for a stroll

Roamed through the empty street

To reach the silent meadow

Stretched on the grassy carpet

Eyes set at the dark sky

With stars blinking here and there

Mild wind stirring the leaves

My mind so wild urging for release

With closed eyes I let loose my thoughts

To rewind, to refresh, to relish

Rushed hundreds of faces so familiar

Hushed memories blushing forth

Traveled back years so many

Incidents initiating smiles and tears

Persons so dear and near to heart

Sensuous moments sidelining sour ones

Just tune to past now and then

Live is worth to live and relive

Brain heralds to march forward

While Mind cradles the bygone

Things seem possible in words

Alas! Pose impossible in deeds

Looking back is not going back

But is getting back some sparks

Yesterday was not an illusion

Today is not a conclusion

Tomorrow is in our imagination

Thus life is always a sensation
