Memories Don'T Listen Poem by T.J. Daniels

Memories Don'T Listen

I pushed the memories of her
back to wherever it is
that unwanted memories reside.

Sometimes
the memories
slowly creep forward

even without my knowledge
until they fill my mind.

They do not belong here

in the present!

I swore that they would stay buried
in the past.

But memories don't listen.
