Memories Of A Love Long Past - Poem by sheryden clegg

MAMMA, PAPPA, SIBLINGS TOO,
ALL GONE FROM ME WITHOUT A CLUE,
LIFE SINCE BEEN,
SO HORRIBLE AN UNTRUE,
WHY SHOULD GOD LAY THIS ON YOU
IT HAS TO BE A DREAM,
NO WEE CHILD SHOULD NEVER HAVE SEEN,

AT THE AGE OF FOUR
YOU NEED TO HAVE EXPLORED
ALL THE LOVE THAT'S SO RIGHTFULLY YOURS
NEVER TO HAVE DONE THESE HORRIBLE CHORES.

HANDS AND KNEES AGAINST THE FLOOR
COULD YOUR WEE BODY TAKE ANY MORE?
LITTLE SOUL SO SMALL AND PETITE,
SHOULD BE HAVING SOME FUN OUTSIDE ON THE STREET

WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH FOR THE SAKE OF WE
NEVER TO WALLOW,
FOREVER TO REPEAT
OH MY GREAT GREAT GREATGRANDMA ONE DAY I HOPE TO MEET,

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STRONG WOMEN
WITH A HEART OF GOLD
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS WE WILL HOLD. X
