Memories Of The Past Poem by Marilyn Lott

Memories Of The Past

We all have treasured memories
That are tucked away in our minds
We bring them out whenever
There’s a thought that will remind

A sweet treasured pet we had
When we were a child or later on
It doesn’t take much, my friend
For that thought to stumble upon

Memories will come so easily
As we stroll out in the dark
Enjoying a lovely lake and trees
A fond memory it will spark

Our childhoods we will always
Remember from time to time
Sweet thoughts often surface
As flashes of the past we find

So enjoy those precious times
Though nothing ever lasts
But we have them put away
Those memories of the past!
