Memory Files - Poem by Jose Maret
the file lay open for scrutiny
and i could hope for numerous possibilities
to turn up in unision
or as surprising singlets.
i lay down on the ground beside it
hoping once again after a long time
to befriend someone or something
who or which would lend a hand
when i close my eyes, take a chance
when times difficult approach
without prior knowledge or intimation.
i decide to flip through it
mustering up the courage i did never have,
and still i am contemplating
on the validity of my decision.
