Today,
The desolate blind man—
Forgetting even his very own face—
Is laughing
So hard
At himself, with a mirror in hand.
And he senses too,
His only memory of light
From
Ages ago,
Is wearing thin—
Retreating away like a distant star.
That is to say,
He too, dreams sometimes:
Dreams of a starlight
So bright
As if it might burn his silent eyes.
And yet,
Every day,
He follows that celestial light—
Still alone,
Hoping that
Oneday,
He would reach so close to the star.
