Message In A Bottle Poem by Maricar De Leon

Message In A Bottle

Rating: 5.0

Tranquil wind blows from the North
Against grains of sand underneath my feet
Wrathful waves eager to reach the coastline.
Coastline where a little poor emptied bottle of liquor lies.

I torn out a blank pallid sheet out of the book
And look for a pen and took
Wrote down all the vows
Imprisoned it inside the urn and sealed it with wood-piece from a bough.

If you leave, will you retrieve?
Or just like the bottle in the sea,
You will be carried away by the current, would you be?
With no guarantee if you will be back merrily.

I heard an unfamiliar irritating yawn
Implicit that somebody is drowsy!
I’m alone here, but no it’s not me, it can’t be
“Is there anybody here”? I shouted with my shivering voice.

I turn my little slit-eyes on the West
Aha! There you are! Mr. Sleepy Sun,
Eventually gone, no more beam of light, no more Mr. Sun
Darkness ate the whole thing!
