I messed up, slipped up.
didn't care
never knew you were there.

cried and apologized,
wept as the sun rised.

tried to take a deep breath but couldn't breathe at all,
my phone rang and I answered the call.

the news was bad and so was the pain,
I wanted to cut but had to refrain.

I took my anger out on everyone,
because I knew you were the only one.

I made a river of tears, and I still hope it dissappears.

I was stupid and didn't give a damn,
or try to understand.

I just sat there and watched everything fall apart,
and now I'm left with nothing but a broken heart.
