Metamorphosis Poem by george mathew

Metamorphosis

Rating: 5.0

They came to our land crying for democracy
They put our children to sleep in the valley with land mines
They sleep with stories they have not been told
They sleep with lessons they have never been taught
They sleep with playmates they never played with
They sleep dreaming of butterflies
They will sleep there for ages
They will endure rain and shine
Their marrow will deteriorate with the battletanks
That put them to sleep
Finally they will turn to coal or oil
Then the people who put them to sleep
In the cold hands of winter will come to them
They will dig them out
Their marrow will run throug our oil tunnels

Now I understand Chemistry better;
Petrol is an organic compound
