Moonlight Ghost
Far away
In a land of mountainous sculpting
And unpolluted skies
Where you could see more than you thought
And in a little clearing
Between a small spring
And a great spruce
With a smell of twilight dew
Lived a tiny grave
Inscribed 'UNKNOWN'
And as darkness descends
The moon rises
You can see a moonlight ghost
Waltzing with the fireflies
And then it would wait
Seconds
Minutes
Hours
It would wait
But as the sun rose again
Blitzing through the far off horizon
The moonlight ghost 'UNKNOWN'
Would slowly disappear
With a smile
Clara
Long ago,
War broke out between two families.
Smoke covered skies,
Couldn't see more than a few feet away,
And a young Woman, Clara
Despised the pointless conflict,
Everyday it grew viciously,
With pungent smells of gunpowder.
She heard a voice
'Clara! RUN! ',
She ran until winded,
Desperate for water,
She found a small shallow spring,
Still exhausted she hid,
Clara waited, listening for voices
Seconds.
Minutes.
Hours.
She would wait,
she heard voices all around her,
Then she heard voices behind her,
No voices that saved her
Those voices killed
With a smile
