Bosom friends were mind and heart
Once quite close to love each other
All the noble had sweeter bonds;
Formed and bound well all together.
With all the noble riches of humanity
Faces were brimming with natural glow
Goodness of the bonds were soaring high
And vices of the world were lying low.
Armed with knowledge of changing world
Mind was lost in the party of joy and cheers
Splashing everywhere the glasses of egos;
And heart was left alone only to shed tears

Reminds me very much of Martin Buber I-Thou relationships. Like you he also thinks that our rational side will eventually destroy the ability to feel things authentically. Thanks for sharing.
