Mine - Poem by Jessica Bouck

maybe I'll just hold my head down
and you can show me reality
the times I made you smile
run weak, as you hold her in your arms
teach me love is blind once more
show me what you're made of
maybe I'll just drown myself in sorrows
dreams never come true
but for some reason I just cant
get over the thought of you
transform my heart once more
you see maybe I'm the one who's wrong
and you're not who I'm looking for
I'm lost here come find me
drowning in my own fears
uplifting thoughts of what ifs enter
through my childlike tears
force me down, pick me up
leave me here to die
I've lost it again, this time's for me
lost in thoughts of what could be
keep me aside to wonder why
I was never yours, you were never mine
minds astray, feelings aloft
you're what I never got
so tired of feeling like I'm nothing
so sick of faking the smile on my face
won't you help ease my pain tonight
and let me know that I'm alright
without you in my life
it will hurt just a little longer
if I dont let you go soon
I know that it's over, it's over
and I'm so hurt so broken inside
I'm sorry I let you into my mind
so sorry I spilled my heart for yours
wont someone just take me away from here
escape from my own mind, self destruction
and I'm so sorry I took you here
I'll make it easy to drown in my despair
dont cry tonight, look dont fear
for I cant help but stare into your eyes
peering into what I thought was mine
