Mine Poem by Madman Poet

Mine

A step or a two
And the click of a boot
An explosion follows
Sending the solider right to the doorstep of heaven
If fate denies him a chance
Screams of pain would prevail
With deep gash and a bloodied wound
He would wait there chancing a sense of his doom
Limbless and senseless
Lying on the gravel waiting for help
He would glance upon his limbs and his detached legs
Lying dead, metres away
Bridging the gap between his service in the army and retirement
As his destiny!
