Mine Is To Imagine Poem by Heath Gunn

Mine Is To Imagine

Rating: 5.0

Mine is to imagine,
what wonders life may bring.
Of pure unspoiled simplicities,
of birds that fly on wing.
Of lands across the oceans,
that i may never see.
Or how different my families lives,
if I had never been.
The depths of real silence,
or the solitude of death.
Or how the winters vapours drift,
on a cold fresh morning breath.
For there are no outer limits,
to the things my mind can dream.
No bounderies or restrictions,
on just how far i see.
And so I'll keep as precious,
the space inside my head.
Even if the time I have,
is only when in my bed.

Yes, this rings true for me. We have to jealously guard the wilderness between our ears and keep it unsullied and unspoilt. 'of birds that fly on wing. Of lands across the oceans, that i may never see.'- so quietly lovely 'For there are no outer limits, to the things my mind can dream. No bounderies or restrictions, on just how far i see.'- nothing as beautiful as truthful words. This reads like a love poem written to the mind.
