Missed Chances In Modern Romance (Shakespearean Sonnet)

A message sent, yet left unopened there,
A "seen" that haunts the heart with quiet ache;
The perfect words dissolve into thin air,
And screens betray the risks we dare not take.
We scroll past moments meant to change our fate,
Or pause too long, then let the chance expire;
A subtle hint arrives a fraction late,
And kindles flames that never find their fire.
Yet even in these losses, lessons lie,
For hearts that wait may learn what patience means;
Desire persists though fleeting chances die,
And love endures through silent, hidden screens.
O modern love, so fragile, swift, and shy,
Still finds its way where digital light gleams high.
