Missing Poem by Gus Oloroso

Missing

How do you lose someone you hardly knew
As if the breath of knowing makes the loss more real
As if the sharing of memories gives permission to the emptiness

How do you become brethren and kindred
To a kind spirit who passes so quickly out of reach
To honor and gentleness unashamedly given; unconditionally held

How do you pay back those fleeting moments
When by a mere tip of a glass
A simple life, gave light to a wandering soul
