Missing Foreign Travels... Poem by RIC BASTASA

Missing Foreign Travels...

how could you forget
the mystery of
romania
and the singing hills of
zalsburg,
the old spa of Turkey
and the temples of
cambodia

you miss travel a lot
as here you are stuck in you
country
with its poor and harassed people
and uncertain future

you live in such a big house
five cars and five servants
high walls and steel gates
and european gardens

you miss california and las vegas
you miss nepal and india
you miss love and the good things
it will give you

you are empty
you have nothing at
all
because all you have is money
and nothing more.
