I lie awake at night
gazing at the sky
Wondering if you see
the same exact stars as I

Life just isn't the same
when you're not around
I hope that you're alright
I hope you're safe and sound

I long to hear your voice
reassure me in that way
It helps me to move on
with each passing day

I need to feel your gentle hands
caressing me with love
You are my heart, my dream
sent to me from above

I dream of when I will wake
to see your beautiful face
Knowing it will be followed by
your loving arms embrace

You are my brave soldier
at this moment away from me
Fighting for your country
for the land of the free

At least this much I know
we will make it through
I hope that you can feel
this is me missing you...
