Mistaken Indentity Poem by josephine lee

Mistaken Indentity

Rating: 5.0

Saw someone today
Who resembles my cousin
From across the road I wonder
Is it her or not
If it's her, What's she doing here
From the hair to the clothing
It sure look like her
From the stances to the gesture
It is as if she's standing there
All in all it look like her
till she started to cross the road
I know it's not her
Upon closer observation
From the top to toe and that git of hers
I know for sure
It's a him and not a her
I laugh to myself
How wrong could i be
I say to myself
Luckily for me the light's not green
and i did not greet him
Oh! How awkward that would be

I've witnessed this a few times in my life, where people have asked whether I was in a place when I wasn't.....They were adamant that it was me though...But they do say...that somewhere in the world is our double......surely there can't be another person as good looking as me lol.............great piece my friend...keep penning
