Misunderstanding walks between two minds,
A quiet space where meanings fall apart;
Words spoken clear grow crooked in their binds,
And good intent is missed by guarded heart.
We speak from wounds the other cannot see,
From histories no sentence can convey;
What's meant as truth sounds like hostility,
And trust dissolves in what we fail to say.
Yet in this rift, a lesson waits in view:
To listen past the echo of our fear;
To grant another's silence room and due,
And hear the pain beneath what's sharp or unclear.
For when we pause to bridge what's misconstrued,
Misunderstanding yields to gentler truth.
