Misunderstanding Poem by Robert J Meyer

Misunderstanding

Her face crumbled and pinkened.
Anger, confusion and hurt etched across her features
As she tried to decode what I said.
Was THAT what I meant?
Or perhaps she read me wrong.
Words and demeanor seemed to be at war.
Tranquility was the casualty
As I tried to explain.
