I am a swan so beautiful and pure
With feathers so white and a grace so rare,
I swim on a lake, so peaceful and calm,
In a world so cruel, so cold, and so harsh.
I am a symbol of beauty and grace,
And yet I am also a symbol of pain,
For I am not understood, not even by those
Who claim to love me, or who claim to care.
