Mixed Up Poem by Tess Green

Mixed Up

It slides through me,
Like a knife through butter,
Easily and smoothly.
A warmth flows out of me that
is almost to overwhelming.
All my fears
My anger
And my worries,
Dissapear for a moment, and all is well, for now.
The sensation sends a jolt up my arm,
And through my body;
And a sweet calmness
comes over me.
I smile at the beautiful liquid
Knowing all it carries.
I think of how I used to be,
So innocent
and happy.
Oh, how I was happy.
So very happy.
But that is gone now,
It left me such a long time ago.
Almost too long ago to remember
