Mock Epic: The Clash Of Ink And Keys

Sing, O Desk, arena of eternal strife,
Where Pen and Keyboard vie for mortal favor,
And Scholars, caught between the ancient and the new,
Wage war upon the blank and daunting page.
The Pen, noble sword of flowing ink,
Raised with flourish, dripping wisdom slow but true.
Each stroke a measured strike, deliberate, precise,
Like knights engraving law upon the world.
Its paper realm lay ready, pure and wide,
A canvas for the hero's careful craft.
But lo! The Keyboard thundered, bold and bright,
A legion of letters marching at finger's command.
It typed with speed, a cavalry of clicks,
Spitting words faster than the mind could pace.
Copy, paste, undo—magic spells of instant power,
Each tap a cannon shot across the desk of fate.
The Scholar wavered, caught in mortal doubt,
One hand raised in loyalty to tradition,
The other enticed by speed and endless correction.
The Ink and Plastic clashed, sparks of thought flying,
Margins trembled, paper quaked, monitors flickered.
At last, a treaty was signed in compromise:
The Pen reserved for wisdom's sacred halls,
The Keyboard conquered memos, essays, and haste.
Yet both remained proud, each claiming victory,
For in the mind of the mortal hero,
Every word, whether slow or fast, was immortal.
Thus ends the epic clash of Pen and Keyboard,
A war of craft, speed, and eternal debate,
Where the Scholar alone must navigate the battlefield,
Bearing ink-stained fingers and sore wrists alike.
