Mock Epic: The Codex Of Pointless Decrees

Sing, O Ledger, witness to the absurd valor of mortals,
Who follow Rules without reason, blindly, heroically,
As if ink on paper were law of Olympus itself,
And logic but a mortal servant left behind.
Behold the Hero, hand trembling over checklist,
Eyes scanning each clause as though dragons lurked therein.
"Thou shalt not step on cracks!
Thou shalt align thy pens by length, color, and temperament!
Thou shalt nod thrice at every greeting! "
And all is obeyed, devotion unshaken, courage unquestioned.
Allies cheer, allies scoff, yet none dare defy,
For the Codex of Pointless Decrees is sacred, eternal.
The Copier hums, the Printer whirs,
Even the Stapler trembles with solemn purpose,
As mortals march in orderly absurdity,
Bowing to invisible judges of decorum and habit.
Obstacles rise: forgotten rules, contradictions, exceptions,
Yet the Hero persists, unwavering, triumphant in ritual,
Each motion heroic, though devoid of logic,
Each sigh of adherence a battle cry of devotion.
And lo! Victory is claimed, papers aligned, chairs squared,
Even if the task was meaningless, the effort immortal,
For Heroes of Rules Without Reason
Achieve glory by mere obedience, absurd, steadfast, epic.
Thus ends the epic of Rules followed without reason,
Where mortals become champions of the ridiculous,
And every ritual, every gesture, every nod
Is sung forever in the annals of heroic absurdity.
