Mock Epic: The Last Slice Poem by ashok jadhav

Mock Epic: The Last Slice

Sing, O Oven, witness to mortal valor,
Of Heroes gathered around the sacred Pizza,
Its golden crust a crown, cheese molten like molten gold,
And toppings arrayed like treasures in the halls of kings.
Behold the Hero, eyes fixed upon the final slice,
Hand hovering like sword over plate of destiny.
Fellow diners, comrades once, now rivals,
Circle like wolves, plotting ambush with forks and napkins.
The Hero raises shield of plate, fork gleaming like spear,
Deflecting stealthy swipes and audacious grabs.
Crust crunches under pressure, cheese stretches like tethers of fate,
While sauce drips as rivers of both triumph and peril.
Allies shout warnings, crumbs fly like shrapnel,
Napkins raised as banners, beverages spilled as boiling rivers.
The Hero strategizes with cunning: a feint to the left,
A sudden lunge, reclaiming ground lost to hungry foes.
Minutes pass like hours, tension mounts like mountain peaks,
And all the world seems to shrink to the battlefield of one slice.
Finally, with a mighty grasp, the Hero seizes the prize,
Crust intact, cheese unbroken, victory claimed.
Thus ends the epic of the Last Slice of Pizza,
Where courage is measured in bites defended,
And every morsel becomes legend, immortalized
In the annals of hunger, glory, and absurd heroism.
