Mockery In Christianity (A Short Story Realistically Portrayed)

The roads and the streets glittered with colorful electric lights. The pathways looked enticing and mesmerizing.

'Hello, sir, why are the roads and the streets burning in colors? ' A passer-by raised his enquiry and threw a question at another passer-by.
'I don't know. Do you know? Tell me if you can.' The second person hit at the first person's enquiry with his reciprocative reply.

'Hey! Hey! Hey! Long live the statue of st.Antony! Long live the statue of gracia mary which is carried by her devotees!

It was a procession organized by Roman Catholic devotees who have neglected the Truth revealed in the Word of God. May be due to their negligence of the Truth or of their ignorance of the Lord's Will or of their blind bond of Roman Catholic alcoholic tradition!
The procession looked glittering and many were enticed to the ostentatious attraction evoked from the fabricative idol of a lady.

Scrambling through the mob, King Mark counted his steps walking into the glittering cathedral. Some devotees like messy mice were seen scribbling the cathedral's floor with their quick steps. Young girls looked like mermaids hidden under fanciful and glamorous clothes. Young men hiding themselves under 'pencil' and 'jeans with breaches' were seen creeping. Old people with their heads high holding their orthodox beliefs crawled among the scattered mob.
King Mark looked around the murals inside fully smeared with toxic paintings and carvings of illusive, Roman Catholic theological persons.

King Mark sat on a bench and his mind worked: The Roman Catholic ritualistic performances began flashing across him: Puppets in the guise of Jewish cassocks tucked with Vatican network rolled up and down in front of idols, statues and busts of Roman Catholic illusive dolls: offering masses to the dead, ‘saints' and to all the created beings, rolling beads in hands, teaching theological catechism, breathing incense smoke, practicing celibacy, claiming authority over the Lord's church (which is not) , and very many sacrilegious acts against God's Word. An ominous noise ripped off from the cathedral's bell tower shook King Mark's working mind. He walked out of the cave of darkness and resumed his journey of study of mockery in Christianity.

A conversation between two persons hit King Mark's ears on his way. "We're not Roman Catholics, but Protestants to break their ideologies. We don't carry idols, statues and busts in our processions." The voice of a Protestant member opened an eye of King Mark. "But, we'll carry the Cross in the guise of crucifix. We have the way of Protestant church." King Mark's second eye too opened.

King Mark happened to step in a Protestant cave. He searched for a seat in the midst of crowds and mobs inside the cave. By chance a seat in a corner hit his eyes. He looked at the front stage and began watching the drama on the stage. Dancing cassocks floated across the scene. "What's this? ! Are they Roman Catholic priests? Chalices are on the table! " King Mark's mind voice vibrated the ears of his stand-by. "Sir, this is Protestant; but we may follow a few practices of the Roman Catholic. She is out eldest sister. But look around the inside of the cave. We don't have idols."

King Mark's eyes travelled around the cave. Yes, no statues are found. But, he looked at a cross-like structure hanging on the wall. There were human paintings claiming the person of the Lord Jesus Christ on the colourful window panes. An opened book was kept at the centre of the front wall. Incense smoke was snugging the open book. King Mark used his magnifying glass at the open book. It was the Bible. "What's this? " King Mark asked himself. A stand-by came out with an answer. "Sir, the Bible is our authority. So, we honour it." King Mark was astonished. He said to himself, "Is it not idol worshipping? Are these devotees worshipping just the black and white printed papers all bound? This is an instrument for humankind to meditate on God's Will. Let's honour it, but not to treat it as an idol. Songs and messages entered devotees' ears; but not their hearts.

King Mark's eyes travelled around to study the devotees' manoeuvre inside the cave. Jewels and cosmetics shrouded the women devotees: scintillating attires floated across the arena. Cake walks were performed. Men devotees rolled themselves with hefty coats, pants, safaris, and boots and with torn jeans.

King Mark set out further to discover the mockery existing in Christianity. No sooner did he step out than he began to faint. Yet, he managed himself to shoot arrows from his eyes towards the direction from which a gibberish chorus cracked the whole of the atmosphere. King Mark raised his eyes and happened to catch the sight of a mob shrouded with white robes of their own order. "Bla bib cuaa dima guma lullu hilo…." This was the gibberish cry raised out of the mob. A person hit King Mark. King Mark realized that the person would come out with an answer for this gibberish cry. "Sir, they are praising God in tongues. You and I can never figure out what they speak. They say they are talking to God.

King Mark tip-toed into a noisy cave where he saw a huge mob was seen in shivering, shuddering, shaking and whirling themselves and the locks of their hair too trembled. Some were seen rolling on the floor and they were checked and assisted by the paid white-clad volunteers. The head pastor was seen dominating the microphone and the stage, raising cacophonous noise engulfing the whole of the cave. While King Mark was watching the emotional drama, one of the members nudged him saying:
"Sir, jerk your body. Utter something. Be emotional! Let's praise the Lord! This is Pentecost."

King Mark let his eyes travel across the walls inside of the cave on which numerous laminated boards printed with some Bible Verses. "Sir, the laminated boards shall bless thee! " A voice from elsewhere wounded the heart of King Mark.

Hopelessly felt in heart King Mark dashed out of the cave to breathe fresh air. He rested awhile under a green tree holding fragrant blossoms and resumed his journey further.

Tired of watching sacrilegious acts of Roman Catholic, Protestant and Pentecost divisions, King Mark continued his walking, holding the Word of God in his hand. On his way he happened to pass through numerous camping tents. He was compelled to enter each of the tents to witness the ritualistic acts. Each camp had its eccentric and peculiar way of worship. All the divisions mostly focused on tithes. The rich had elevated seats; the poor with their mud bowls.

Grieved in heart, King Mark left the camping tents looking for more to study the mockery existing in Christianity. He was led into woods. Isolated from traditional practices there stood a tiny hutment. Expectantly King Mark stepped in through an open door. Everywhere was silence. Captivated by the sound of silence, King Mark looked around the hut. He could not find any hanging on the walls. He looked at the front stage. Prayers were said: Songs were sung: God's Word was preached: The Lord's Supper was observed: Offering was collected. All these steps were in fine tune. Convinced and comforted by the tuneful worship pattern, King Mark decided to follow the tuneful pattern of worship.

King Mark did not retire from his onward journey. His frequent visits to the tiny hutment taught him sharpened his mind to study each of the patterns of the tiny hutment. The hutment seemed to be partially pleasant; but at corners he found some shaky supports. He tried to bring some strong supports; but a few man-made theological attractions had veiled the way to reach the ground. Yet, King Mark visited the hutment but with the Word of God and the Word of God is the Authority to reach the Final Destination.

King Mark would travel with the hope to reach the Final Destination. He could not stop his journey till his departure from the world. Noises, sounds, melodies, new-fangled jargons, mesmerizing theologies, toxic messages, and sweet-coated speeches were crossing his way; yet, King Mark never let the Word of God down. He walked with the Word of God. Here are a few of the shots that crossed his way.

He heard a disco cry. Walking towards the direction of the disco cry, he saw an amusing troupe uttering the Lord's Name but in tuneless modes.

"Hello, what makes you stunned? Is the disco cry? It is not uncommon here. It is the cry from the floaters spelling the Book B I B L E, but not proclaiming the Word of God. Their cry is cinematic and tantalizing the nerves, but weakening the souls. They mimic theaters of this world. Be not saddened, still there is a lot to shed tears…."

King Mark walked further to witness many more meetings being held on stages. Walking close to the stages, he watched multitudes of ignorant people shouting, boogieing and rolling on grounds. Wondered, while watching the worldly drama on stage and on the grounds, a passer-by hit King Mark's mind: "These are the gimmicks carried out by the false interpreters of the Word of God."

"You shall be healed: your diseases have left you: your son's/daughter's marriages shall happen:
You shall receive orders of appointment: you will build palaces: you will become rich: you will speak in tongues. How many of you need these things? Raise your hands. How many of you will say: Amen".
King Mark watched silently and laughed at these meaningless gimmicks exclusively inserted in dramas on the stages lined as stalls.

King Mark continued his journey with the Guidance of God in Christ Jesus. It was a stone's throw away to catch a sight of roasters, pointers and fun makers on the way. "Do you know what they are doing? " King Mark heard a passer-by say. "They are roasting the culprits of the false preachers; stripping the wolves disguising themselves as lambs and making fun of theatrical artists who violate the Truth found in the Word of God. Marvel not! It happens in these last days."

King Mark retired awhile beneath the tiny hutment where he had been earlier. To his shock, while he had been pondering the Word of God, he happened to witness some twists and turns in the proceedings practiced inside the hutment. He could observe some baseless dogmas and worldly interpretations encouraged inside the hutment. Having held his mind toward the Word of God, King Mark studied the twists and turns happening inside the hutment and followed only the Word of God. He observed some fissures and holes weakening the walls of the hutment.

King Mark could not change the demoralized Christendom, but continued to pray to the Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ that all people on earth including himself to stand firm in the Lord till death to enter the Eternity blameless.

King Mark walked ….walked….tlll he had to walk till death….
