Mom’s Garden Poem by Marilyn Lott

Mom’s Garden

Rating: 5.0

It seems like only yesterday
That mom carefully hoed the ground
Making rows long and straight
She was the best gardener around

She planted the seeds one by one
And nurtured every plant as it grew
Sometimes we’d all help her weed
Tender vegetables that went in her stew

I looked forward every year
For when time for planting came
Oh how good those vegetables were
Their freshness always the same

I wish now I could see again
Those gardens that meant so much
And watch as she tended the tiny shoots
With her soft and gentle touch

Now as I look at treasured photos
And remember way back through the years
I smile at those memories of yesterday
I smile through a couple of tears!
