Mom Why Poem by Bernice Shipman

Mom Why

You ask mom why did my sissy have to go away.
I said baby girl she just couldn't stay, and you know it had to be that way
For you see her body was weak and worn.
And her heart was all that could weather the storm.
God knew she was tired and weak and it was time for her to come home her maker to meet.
Her earthy body could not stand the pain so God said my child it is time to come home right away.
