Momentarily Poem by Richard Dave Luison

Momentarily

I could only reminisce how happy we were
Whenever we are with each other.
Those moments we've spent together
Are but memories worth a thousand years.

I could not help but smile remembering
How everything between us started.
Who would have thought of the possibility that from mere acquaintance
Lovers we have become.

You never fail to put a smile upon my face
To see you everyday is a prayer i always say.
Before i close my eyes at night,
it is your beautiful face i wish to see.

You should have known how proud i was
Whenever i get to accompany you wherever you go.
How i wish to have visited your place too,
But i never get the chance to do so.

What i like the most are those times
When we chose to take the long way home.
Most especially if it is you who would initiate to.
I felt so special whenever you do so.

But same with all those things that made me feel that way,
What we have too, was momentarily.
How i would wish to prolong our journey
Yet by doing so, would only prolong
each other's agony.

We met in this lifetime
with circumstances none of us prayed.
Despite the happiness we shared
It may be early to say,
may be we are not just meant to be.

Wherever you may be now
I pray for your safety.
But most of all, i pray that you will meet
that someone who would chose to stay.
Not just someone like me
who came to your life and have given you love
but only momentarily.
