Momento Mori Poem by Paskal Copier

Momento Mori

most days I'm like a drop in the sea
people around me are no friend to me
they keep walking while I stand
in the rain like a soaked houseplant
I don't dare talking to them
if I start walking I break my stem
I'll never catch up
and they'll never stop
slowely I fill my cup
more with every teardrop
it's hopeless, no hope at all
it's hopeless, I just wait to fall

In my grave I lie alone
like a lizard laying prone
no one around to mourn me
rotting flesh and bone
just engravement on a stone
a simple momento mori

I keep trying to contact earth
hoping to find my worth
in anything other than solitude
from the moment of my birth
not known more than J. R. Firth
never fitted in anywhere
I keep speaking louder still
speaking against my will
oh will I ever shut up?
well, the silences I killed
unnecessarily, I failed
to fill the void inside of me
