Moments Poem by robert snively

Moments

Moments whether cumbersome or minute
All have potential to be your last minute
We are but wasteful creatures
Walking on a threatening doorstep
that can open at any given time
Yet we spit in the face of the doorman
Not blind but ignorant of life
With our careless wants becoming our never-ending needs
What we do not realize while we are searching for ourselves
Is we can never change the past, and we can never see the future
So all we truly have control over is the present
Yet know one thinks about the present
We throw away all the choices we have
Trying to think about how we could have done something earlier
Or how we might be able to do something later
Instead of thinking about how we can do something now
