Moments In Darkness Poem by Mark Graham

Moments In Darkness

Without resolution and without hope I slide into the oblivion of despair,
Residing in the caverns, of restlessness, my soul is beyond repair.
Hope is dangled before my love lost eyes,
And then betrayed in a myriad of questionable lies.
Calling and beseeching, searching for what I can never find.
I retreat once again to the empty spaces of my unfathomable mind.
There I remain lost in the infinite whys and wherefores of today and tomorrow
To dwell upon lost causes, and forlorn dreams with unrelenting sorrow
Cascading through the thoroughfares of time,
With the speed and mesmerising laments of tortured rhyme,
Are the broken recollections, of fractured thought,
And the empty husks of desires that have come to nought.
Within the silence of the moment that torments my heart,
I understand and bewail all that keeps us apart.
So in wistful reverie, I wallow in my malaise,
And realise my life is just a series of well worn clichés.
To go on and on until my race is run,
Forever alone until my day is done.

This was a really nice piece, I loved how the piece focused on your current you and not how you got there. You had a really nice way of describing your state of mind. NIce piece ... good job
