Moments Spent! Poem by Rozi Khan

Moments Spent!

Moments Spent
I sat and mused on lost array of bygone days
The glowing bars animating dead memories;
The dying day emboss its glow on towering hills
And I reflect with heavy heart the moments spent—
These wasted moments that are mine no more,
Fetch mists of apparitions; pervade my thoughts
Those precious jewels, a solace for broken souls;
That warmth of hearts, how extinguishing pass!
I try fixing chains, which broken still asunder lay
As I say adieu to this dying; last December's day.
Bury black and bitter tastes—just bless this plea
And bring us lively lucent hope for another lay.
